Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in London held the auction Blazing a TrailModern British Women, which included the work Pink Flamingos and Lighthouse by Joan Gillchrest. The price achieved of GBP 8,287.50 (€ 9,431.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joan Gillchrest - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jack'S View Of Mousehole, which sold at auction in November 2006 for GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,948.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pink Flamingos and Lighthouse von Joan Gillchrest zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.287,50 (€ 9.431,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Joan Gillchrest mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jack'S View Of Mousehole beobachtet, die im November 2006 für GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.948,53) versteigert wurde.
