The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,462.50 (€ 5,076.96), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Joan Gillchrest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jack'S View Of Mousehole in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 16,800.00 (€ 24,948.53).

Die Arbeit View Of Newlyn Harbour With Cat von Joan Gillchrest wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.462,50 (€ 5.076,96) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joan Gillchrest auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jack'S View Of Mousehole im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.800,00 (€ 24.948,53).
