This artwork by John Hassall achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2006. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work 'Who Said Bagdad' sold for GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,580.99) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Hassall; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Victory Parade sold at auction in September 2004 with the realized price of GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,437.35).

In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wurde die Arbeit 'Who Said Bagdad' für GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.580,99) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von John Hassall; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Victory Parade im September 2004 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 1.673,00 (€ 2.437,35).
