This price was achieved in the auction Dear Keith: Works from the Personal Collection of Keith Haring at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 800.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Sex; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Art Through The Mail sold at auction in October 2020 with the realized price of USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,786.38).
