Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Priscilla, 1970 by Joseph Szabo was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,493.75). Admittedly, works by Joseph Szabo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Priscilla in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,540.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Priscilla, 1970 von Joseph Szabo im November 2010 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.493,75) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Szabo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Priscilla im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.540,52).
