Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Josh Smith was sold in the New Now auction at Phillips in New York in September last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 15,455.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josh Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in July 2021 with an auction result of GBP 214,200.00 (€ 251,193.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Josh Smith wurde im September letzten Jahres in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 15.455,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Josh Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 214.200,00 (€ 251.193,91).
