Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

It achieved a price of EUR 69,300.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16 %. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julian Opie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Walking in London in the rain, which sold at auction in June last year for CHF 189,000.00 (€ 189,036.11).

Die Arbeit Woman taking off summer dress. 03. von Julian Opie wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Art contemporain - Vente du jour bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 69.300,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16 %. Für andere Arbeiten von Julian Opie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Walking in London in the rain beobachtet, die im Juni letzten Jahres für CHF 189.000,00 (€ 189.036,11) versteigert wurde.
