Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Christies in Amsterdam held the auction 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam, which included the work Marry me again (Indian couple) by Karel Appel. It changed hands for a price of EUR 119,700.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Karel Appel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two birds and a Flower in December 2012 with an auction result of EUR 841,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marry me again (Indian couple) von Karel Appel zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 119.700,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karel Appel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Two birds and a Flower im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 841.000,00.
