Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Gatekeeper, Zanana, Samode Palace from India Song by Karen Knorr was auctioned at Phillips in London in May 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,560.00 (€ 8,796.23). Other works by Karen Knorr have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2021 by the work 'Ganesha’s Mount, Chavi Niwas, Jaipur' (from the series India Song), 2020 at GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,793.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Gatekeeper, Zanana, Samode Palace from India Song von Karen Knorr im Mai 2021 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.560,00 (€ 8.796,23) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Karen Knorr wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2021 die Arbeit 'Ganesha’s Mount, Chavi Niwas, Jaipur' (from the series India Song), 2020 mit GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.793,59).
