In the Modern British Art Day Sale auction, the work The Ferry Slip at Knott End on Sea sold for GBP 37,500.00 (€ 42,155.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laurence Stephen Lowry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Going to the Match in October last year with an auction result of GBP 7,846,500.00 (€ 9,141,085.62).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Laurence Stephen Lowry erzielte im Juni 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit The Ferry Slip at Knott End on Sea für GBP 37.500,00 (€ 42.155,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Laurence Stephen Lowry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Going to the Match im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.846.500,00 (€ 9.141.085,62).
