Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Carousel Cows by Lee Miller for USD 21,150.00 (€ 24,923.40). This price was achieved in the auction PHOTOGRAPHIC MASTERWORKS 2 at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Miller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nude in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 504,000.00 (€ 418,952.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2000 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Carousel Cows von Lee Miller für USD 21.150,00 (€ 24.923,40) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PHOTOGRAPHIC MASTERWORKS 2 bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Miller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nude im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 504.000,00 (€ 418.952,62).
