Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boy With Red Glass by Liu Ye was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 2,800,000.00 – 4,800,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 3,276,000.00 (€ 398,665.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Ye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Smoke in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 52,182,000.00 (€ 5,964,325.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Boy With Red Glass von Liu Ye kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 2.800.000,00 – 4.800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 3.276.000,00 (€ 398.665,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Ye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Smoke im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 52.182.000,00 (€ 5.964.325,41).
