Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Fall of Snow by Loren MacIver was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,390.00 (€ 1,992.50). Admittedly, works by Loren MacIver have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Moonlight in June 2016 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,197.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Fall of Snow von Loren MacIver im November 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.390,00 (€ 1.992,50) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Loren MacIver auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Moonlight im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.197,61).
