Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Man (Self-portrait) by Lucian Freud was sold in the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in June this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,734,000.00 (€ 2,018,077.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucian Freud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) in November last year with an auction result of USD 86,265,000.00 (€ 83,565,823.89).

Die Arbeit A Man (Self-portrait) von Lucian Freud wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.734.000,00 (€ 2.018.077,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucian Freud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.265.000,00 (€ 83.565.823,89).
