Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2021 Christies held the auction Post War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Portrait Of James Iliff by Lucian Freud. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 65,000.00 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucian Freud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) in November last year with an auction result of USD 86,265,000.00 (€ 83,565,823.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of James Iliff von Lucian Freud zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 65.000,00 und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucian Freud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.265.000,00 (€ 83.565.823,89).
