Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Christies in Sydney held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Chess set by Man Ray. Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 52,920.00 (€ 48,514.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chess set von Man Ray zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 52.920,00 (€ 48.514,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
