Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L’Enigme d’Isidore Ducasse (The Enigma of Isidore Ducasse), 1920 by Man Ray was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in June 2020. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,347.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Man Ray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 in May last year with an auction result of USD 12,412,500.00 (€ 11,566,955.55).

Die Arbeit L’Enigme d’Isidore Ducasse (The Enigma of Isidore Ducasse), 1920 von Man Ray wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.347,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Man Ray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Violon d'Ingres, 1924 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.412.500,00 (€ 11.566.955,55).
