Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 3 Standard Stoppages by Marcel Duchamp was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2017. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,927,500.00 (€ 1,715,468.14). Admittedly, works by Marcel Duchamp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Belle haleine - Eau de voilette in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 8,913,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 3 Standard Stoppages von Marcel Duchamp kam im Mai 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.800.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.927.500,00 (€ 1.715.468,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marcel Duchamp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Belle haleine - Eau de voilette im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.913.000,00.
