Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Mark Rothko was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 48,008,000.00 (€ 44,737,675.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 35,000,000.00 – 50,000,000.00. Other works by Mark Rothko have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2015 the work No. 10 was auctioned for USD 81,925,000.00 (€ 74,517,918.86).
