Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ram Prakash Singh with his elephant, Shyama, Great Golden Circus, Ahmedabad, India by Mary Ellen Mark was auctioned at Phillips in London in May 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,144.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mary Ellen Mark have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Clayton Moore - The Former Lone Ranger At His Home - Los Angeles, California in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,965.18).

Die Arbeit Ram Prakash Singh with his elephant, Shyama, Great Golden Circus, Ahmedabad, India von Mary Ellen Mark kam im Mai 2011 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.144,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Ellen Mark auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Clayton Moore - The Former Lone Ranger At His Home - Los Angeles, California im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.965,18).
