Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2018 Sothebys in Paris held the auction From Magritte to Zao Wou-Ki, which included the work Le Cheval Normand by Max Jacob. The auction ended at the price of EUR 1,500.00, which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Jacob achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unknown in April 2004 with an auction result of EUR 18,800.00.
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion From Magritte to Zao Wou-Ki durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le Cheval Normand von Max Jacob zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 1.500,00 entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Jacob erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unknown im April 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.800,00.
