This artwork by Max Liebermann achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2021. In the Impressionist and Modern Art Online auction, the work Spielende Kinder am Strand (Children playing on the beach) sold for GBP 163,800.00 (€ 194,058.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Max Liebermann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zwei Reiter Am Strand Nach Links (Two Riders On The Beach To The Left) in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 1,865,000.00 (€ 2,629,626.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Max Liebermann erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Online wurde die Arbeit Spielende Kinder am Strand (Children playing on the beach) für GBP 163.800,00 (€ 194.058,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Max Liebermann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zwei Reiter Am Strand Nach Links (Two Riders On The Beach To The Left) im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.865.000,00 (€ 2.629.626,59).
