Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Useless by Mel Bochner. The price achieved of USD 25,600.00 (€ 23,469.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mel Bochner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blah, Blah, Blah in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 187,500.00 (€ 159,249.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Useless von Mel Bochner zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.600,00 (€ 23.469,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mel Bochner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blah, Blah, Blah im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 187.500,00 (€ 159.249,19).
