Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Marilyn Monroe from the 'Black Sitting', 1956 by Milton Greene was sold in the Interiors auction at Christies in New York in August 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,125.00 (€ 855.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Milton Greene achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nelly Nyad (1952) in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 15,275.00 (€ 18,000.24).
