Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Charles Baudelaire, Les Fleurs du Mal, Henri Floury, Paris, 1923 by Odilon Redon was sold in the Old Master, Modern & Contemporary Prints auction at Christies in London in June 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,676.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Odilon Redon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Pavot Noir in October last year with an auction result of USD 3,780,000.00 (€ 3,805,113.75).
