Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chrysis by Paul Delvaux was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 212,500.00 (€ 190,839.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Delvaux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Miroir in February 2016 with an auction result of GBP 7,317,000.00 (€ 9,375,831.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chrysis von Paul Delvaux wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 190.839,69) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Delvaux erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Miroir im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.317.000,00 (€ 9.375.831,98).
