Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Paul Strand achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2013. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Photographs Of Mexico' sold for USD 37,500.00 (€ 28,478.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Strand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Akeley Motion Picture Camera, New York, 1922 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 783,750.00 (€ 595,192.89).
