Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Uganda, Murchison Park, for The End of the Game by Peter Beard was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,548.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).
