Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Femme À Sa Toilette (Le Peignoir) by Pierre Bonnard was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000,000.00 – 6,000,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,620,000.00 (€ 3,246,927.98). Admittedly, works by Pierre Bonnard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Terrasse Ou Une Terrasse À Grasse in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 19,570,000.00 (€ 17,553,143.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Femme À Sa Toilette (Le Peignoir) von Pierre Bonnard im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000.000,00 – 6.000.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.620.000,00 (€ 3.246.927,98) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre Bonnard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Terrasse Ou Une Terrasse À Grasse im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.570.000,00 (€ 17.553.143,78).
