It achieved a price of EUR 170,500.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 42 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre Soulages achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peinture 195 x 130 cm, 4 août 1961 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 20,141,700.00 (€ 17,845,042.97).

Die Arbeit Gouache sur papier 76x57.5 cm, 1977 von Pierre Soulages kam im Juni 2017 bei Christies in Paris zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 170.500,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 42 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pierre Soulages erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Peinture 195 x 130 cm, 4 août 1961 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.141.700,00 (€ 17.845.042,97).
