Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In December 2019 Christies in London held the auction Quentin Blake: Not in Books, which included the work Birds drawn with quills #2 by Quentin Blake. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 625.00 (€ 738.68). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quentin Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Dezember 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Quentin Blake: Not in Books durch, in der auch die Arbeit Birds drawn with quills #2 von Quentin Blake zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 625,00 (€ 738,68) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quentin Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
