Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled Escape Collage by Rashid Johnson was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The price achieved of USD 990,600.00 (€ 929,791.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Rashid Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Surrender Painting "Sunshine", which sold at auction in November last year for USD 3,000,000.00 (€ 2,906,131.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled Escape Collage von Rashid Johnson wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 990.600,00 (€ 929.791,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Rashid Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Surrender Painting "Sunshine" beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 3.000.000,00 (€ 2.906.131,94) versteigert wurde.
