Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work '1.26.00 5:45 p.m.' by Richard Misrach. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,783.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Misrach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #328-02, 2002 in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 125,000.00 (€ 111,597.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit '1.26.00 5:45 p.m.' von Richard Misrach zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 4.783,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Richard Misrach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #328-02, 2002 im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 111.597,18).
