Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (Cowboy) by Richard Prince was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2016. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,525,000.00 (€ 3,165,693.76). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Prince - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Runaway Nurse, which sold at auction in June 2021 for HKD 93,986,000.00 (€ 10,209,316.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Cowboy) von Richard Prince kam im Mai 2016 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.525.000,00 (€ 3.165.693,76) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Prince mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Runaway Nurse beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für HKD 93.986.000,00 (€ 10.209.316,51) versteigert wurde.
