Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Robert Delaunay achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in October last year. In the Art Moderne auction, the work Étude pour "Les Coureurs" sold for EUR 35,280.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Delaunay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tour Eiffel in February 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,737,250.00 (€ 4,462,375.53).
