Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Manège de Cochons by Robert Delaunay was worth GBP 365,000.00 (€ 427,743.97) to a buyer in March 2017. This price was achieved in the auction Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Delaunay achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tour Eiffel in February 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,737,250.00 (€ 4,462,375.53).
