Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Bath by Robert Rauschenberg was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 444,500.00 (€ 417,214.19) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Rauschenberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Buffalo Ii in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 88,805,000.00 (€ 79,652,883.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Bath von Robert Rauschenberg wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 444.500,00 (€ 417.214,19) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Robert Rauschenberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Buffalo Ii im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 88.805.000,00 (€ 79.652.883,67).
