In April 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Emmett Darling, 1993 by Sally Mann. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,799.90), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sally Mann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Candy Cigarette in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 257,000.00 (€ 205,107.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im April 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Emmett Darling, 1993 von Sally Mann zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 8.799,90) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sally Mann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Candy Cigarette im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 257.000,00 (€ 205.107,74).
