Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in Milan held the auction Arte Contemporanea, which included this untitled work by Salvatore Scarpitta. The price achieved of EUR 732,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Salvatore Scarpitta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Housing Developed in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 2,535,000.00 (€ 2,940,418.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in Mailand die Auktion Arte Contemporanea durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Salvatore Scarpitta zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 732.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Salvatore Scarpitta auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Housing Developed im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.535.000,00 (€ 2.940.418,20).
