Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Korem Camp, Ethiopia, 1984 by Sebastião Salgado was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2020. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,677.94) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sebastião Salgado achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Serra Pelada, Gold Mine, Brazil' in April 2021 with an auction result of USD 126,000.00 (€ 104,738.15).

Die Arbeit Korem Camp, Ethiopia, 1984 von Sebastião Salgado kam im Juni 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.677,94) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sebastião Salgado erzielen.
