Auction result well in line with expectations

In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, which included the work Early Edwardian Pole vault by Quentin Blake. The price achieved of GBP 1,664.00 (€ 1,910.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quentin Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration durch, in der auch die Arbeit Early Edwardian Pole vault von Quentin Blake zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.664,00 (€ 1.910,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quentin Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
