Auction result misses estimated price range
In July this year a collector was able to acquire the work R109 by Sol LeWitt for GBP 2,268.00 (€ 2,646.07). This price was achieved in the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sol LeWitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit R109 von Sol LeWitt für GBP 2.268,00 (€ 2.646,07) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
