Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Post -War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Wall Drawing #522 by Sol LeWitt. Here, the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 132,000.00 (€ 98,119.38). Admittedly, works by Sol LeWitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wavy Brushstrokes in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 449,000.00 (€ 636,531.19).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post -War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wall Drawing #522 von Sol LeWitt zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 132.000,00 (€ 98.119,38) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sol LeWitt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wavy Brushstrokes im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 449.000,00 (€ 636.531,19).
