Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Planet by Thomas Demand was sold in the First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in London in July 2020. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 6,971.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Demand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Yellowcake (Embassy I,II, III, IV, IV.a, V, VI, VII, VII.a) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 413,000.00 (€ 375,659.45).
