Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Chandelier 2 by Tschabalala Self. It changed hands for a price of GBP 138,600.00 (€ 164,325.90) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tschabalala Self - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Princess, which sold at auction in February 2020 for GBP 435,000.00 (€ 504,165.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chandelier 2 von Tschabalala Self zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 138.600,00 (€ 164.325,90) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tschabalala Self mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Princess beobachtet, die im Februar 2020 für GBP 435.000,00 (€ 504.165,99) versteigert wurde.
