The work Post-Classical Series: After Mona Lisa by Wang Guangyi was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 8,040,000.00 (€ 860,807.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 34%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Guangyi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mao AO, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 2,036,000.00 (€ 2,923,829.97).

Die Arbeit Post-Classical Series: After Mona Lisa von Wang Guangyi wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 8.040.000,00 (€ 860.807,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 34%. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Guangyi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mao AO beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 2.036.000,00 (€ 2.923.829,97) versteigert wurde.
