Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Composition by Willem de Kooning. The price achieved of USD 57,075.00 (€ 53,187.03) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem de Kooning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled XXV in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 66,327,500.00 (€ 62,703,252.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Composition von Willem de Kooning zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 57.075,00 (€ 53.187,03) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem de Kooning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled XXV im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 66.327.500,00 (€ 62.703.252,03).
