Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wolfgang Tillmans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in February 2020. In the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction, the work (i) grey jeans over stair post, 1991; (ii) Lutz, Alex, Suzanne and Christoph on Beach, 1993; (iii) Young Woman, Chemistry, 1992 sold for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,628.80) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wolfgang Tillmans achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Freischwimmer #84 in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 605,000.00 (€ 688,982.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wolfgang Tillmans erzielte im Februar 2020 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online wurde die Arbeit (i) grey jeans over stair post, 1991; (ii) Lutz, Alex, Suzanne and Christoph on Beach, 1993; (iii) Young Woman, Chemistry, 1992 für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.628,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wolfgang Tillmans erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Freischwimmer #84 im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 605.000,00 (€ 688.982,12).
