Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sleeping Series by Xin Haizhou was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 112,500.00 (€ 11,443.38). Admittedly, works by Xin Haizhou have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rule of the Game No. 2 in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 775,000.00 (€ 89,575.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sleeping Series von Xin Haizhou im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 112.500,00 (€ 11.443,38) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xin Haizhou auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rule of the Game No. 2 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 775.000,00 (€ 89.575,66).
