Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Modern Edition, which included the work Watermelon by Yozo Hamaguchi. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,323.40). Admittedly, works by Yozo Hamaguchi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roofs of Paris (M. Gallery 42) in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 33,460.00 (€ 35,828.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern Edition durch, in der auch die Arbeit Watermelon von Yozo Hamaguchi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.323,40) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yozo Hamaguchi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roofs of Paris (M. Gallery 42) im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 33.460,00 (€ 35.828,25).
